So far it has been a busy few weeks coming back from summer and picking up work on the film! I was able to do a little bit of work over the summer and begin the texturing process.

One asset I was able to work on and somewhat complete was the Chateau building:

The render quality on these images is pretty low, but this was just the first pass so I could get critique from my group and then go back into Substance Painter and make some changes. I created the grass/straw roof in Substance Designer and need to go in and add more color, add some more dirt and mud to the legs of the building, change the color of the window frames, adjust the ivy, and overall add more detail. I was happy with this work, and even though a lot still needs to be done, I thought it gave me a clear idea of what the texture workflow was going to look like and the style I was trying to achieve.

However, I am taking a pause on this chateau, and I am currently working on Madam Gator. There have been some technical difficulties around the ways her UVs were placed and some trouble with Substance Painter un-smoothing her mesh. Just this past week we seemed to have sorted everything out and I will be working on making up the lost time. I just restarted her skin texture on Tuesday/Thursday and plan on having her prepared for the production pass this coming week!

Here is her current progress in Substance Painter!

She still is in need of a lot more detail and plan on giving her some scales and a rough skin texture. Her dress will be added in the clothing sim, but I will need to figure out a texture for her gloves, and work on her heels!
