It has been a productive week! I am working on finishing up Madam Gator's dress, here is the in-progress images from substance painter:

I am attempting to create a velvety texture for her dress. I have been using a lot of layering and masks with dust/dirt texture filters. This has been a tedious process; I am trying to make the velvet look realistic, but I don't want to stand out much or not come across as cartoonish. I have a few more edits and changes to make, but so far, I am loving the way the dress is looking. I think I have been able to visualize some textured depth to her outfit. Before I landed on wanting a velvety design/texture, I first tried to create silk which I ended up having a really hard time portraying on this model. My future plan for this texture is to darken the purple and create pattern details that match up with the concept art for her dress.

This week I also planned a zoom call for the musicians that are helping us. It was such a productive meeting, and we were able to learn about the recording process and begin to plan out how we would go about getting all the audio. After hearing and getting advice from our trumpet player we decided that each instrument will record separately and then we have someone who can help comp and mix all the audio together! It was so wonderful to see everyone so excited to help us, I think me and the rest of my group had very little recording or music knowledge, so after our meeting we all felt so much better and can't wait to see what everyone creates!

This coming week I have to prioritize finalizing the Bayou textures and making sure they are ready for rendering once animation is done. This includes fixing the tree, house, ground, and gumbo pot textures.
