the past two weeks slowed down for me and my team; After preparing for our first production pass, we left with lots of changes and notes we needed to address. Some of the main ones were our concept art not matching the cartoon visual development we established, and major revisions of the story boards.
We decided to push back the future assets so we could focus on making those changes. My task was to revise the prop concepts.
I was a bit frustrated by the way I set up a lot of my photoshop files, it made making adjustments fairly complicated. My final images were so rendered that it was also hard to pick them apart. I talked with my group, and they helped me decide that I could keep the final render for color and overall look but mark over them with the new cartoon style.
Here are the few I was working on earlier this week.

The main changes are making the shapes look rounder and more bubbly. Some modelers already started on these concepts but because the changes are pretty minor, it will hopefully not set us back very far!
I still have a few more props I need to adjust, and plan to do that later this week (they are all due Friday).
Then I will finally begin to model, and I am honestly looking forward from taking a small break from illustrating. I love to draw but it has been a lot on top of other work I need to do, I also was learning a lot about concept design while I did this. I learned that it would have been better for me to hold off on such a rendered final image until I went through various sketches. Though I wasn't able to do it earlier, I am glad I get to experiment with these adjustments and loosen up my style a little bit.
